The program of International Finance (English) is composed of one undergraduate program and two graduate programs. The undergraduate program of Finance (English) at SISU was launched in 1995. The academic graduate program started to enroll students in 2012, the professional graduate program in 2015. We have distinguished scholars who are committed to teaching and academic research. Most teachers have been educated or have done research in top universities overseas, and quite a number of them are able to teach bilingually in Chinese and English, or completely in English. Over the past few years, our teachers have published a large number of monographs and academic papers, undertaken and completed dozens of academic projects, and compiled many textbooks widely used and acclaimed.
Objectives
Our programs aim at cultivating multidisciplinary professionals with a global vision. Our students are expected to have a good command of theories of economics and finance, and be able to apply what they have learned to international financial business. They are supposed to have a good command of English skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing and interpreting, with the capability to be engaged in international banking, foreign insurance, securities investment management and other businesses. We provide dual degrees and dual programs for students of Finance. Students majoring in finance will obtain a bachelor degree of management after passing the thesis defense. Those who minor in English will receive a bachelor degree of arts (minor) upon completion of the required credits.
Curriculum
Core Courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Finance, Investment Banking, Securities Investment, Insurance, Central Banking: Theory & Policy, Accounting, Statistics, Commercial Banking Management, Corporate Finance, International Settlement, Computer Applications, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, and so on.
English Language Courses: Intensive Reading, Extensive Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing, Translation, etc. A small-sized class teaching model is adopted for all English courses. Students can take TEM–4 and TEM–8 in the sophomore year and senior year respectively, and those who pass the afore-mentioned tests are awarded a certificate of the corresponding test, and are recognized as having the same proficiency as English majors.

Our graduates have good employment prospects, and they are among the most sought-after by employers such as state-owned financial institutions, accounting firms, foreign and domestic banks, foreign and domestic insurance corporations, securities corporations, financial institutions, state-owned enterprises, foreign-fund enterprises, consulting firms, and so on.
