This program was established in 1984, and its graduate program was launched in 1999, with research focuses on international trade theory and policy, international marketing, business communication, and Japanese economy. In addition, a professional graduate program of International Business was first authorized in 2018 and started its enrollment in 2019.
Objectives
This program aims to cultivate highly competent talents with high proficiency in English, a good command of international trade and international economic cooperation theory and practice, professional literacy in economic laws in China, and a global vision in the field of international economy and trade. We provide double degree and double program for our students. Students will receive a bachelor degree of management after passing the thesis defense. Those who minor in English can obtain a bachelor degree of arts (minor) after completing the required courses.
Curriculum
Core Courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Marketing, Industrial Economics, Investment, Public Finance, Finance, Management, Accounting, Statistics, Econometrics, Business Negotiation, International Settlement, World Economics, International Trade Practice, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Computer Application, etc. Courses of finance and accounting are also available to students. Some courses of this program are delivered in English with original English textbooks.
English Language Courses: Intensive Reading, Extensive Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing, Translation, etc. A small-sized class teaching model is adopted for all English courses. Students can take TEM–4 and TEM–8 in the sophomore year and senior year respectively, and those who pass the afore-mentioned tests are awarded a certificate of the corresponding test and are recognized as having the same proficiency as English majors.

Our graduates have good employment prospects, and they are among the most sought-after by employers, such as government institutions of foreign trade, big state-owned enterprises, enterprises of foreign trade, foreign and domestic banks, foreign and domestic insurance companies, management consulting companies, accounting firms, advertising and media firms, foreign-funded enterprises, overseas Chinese enterprises, etc.
