The MOOC of Principles of Microeconomics was officially launched online through China University MOOC on December 28th, 2020. The instructors of this course are Dr. Li Yang and Dr. Li Yihang from School of Economics and Finance, Shanghai International Studies University. This course covers the topics of the fundamental theories of the market, consumers and firms. It focuses on the study of the forces of supply and demand, market efficiency, consumer and firm behavior, and the organization of industry. The goal of this course is to help students who are new to economics to understand introductory microeconomic theory and analytical methods, solve basic microeconomic problems, and use these techniques to think about a number of policy questions relevant to the operation of the real economy.

This course is given in English and has been offered for many years in the School of Economics and Finance with a team of instructors. This course helps expand students’ international vision, improve their comprehensive professional literacy and practical ability, and cultivate international and compound senior professional talents with a global perspective, proficiency in economic theory and practice, and proficiency in English.
